Visually mapping math

The Quantile Framework for Mathematics -- which measures mathematics achievement, much the same way the Lexile Framework for Reading measures reading ability -- has been difficult for some to visualize. Until now.

MetaMetrics, developer of Quantiles, has released the first Quantile Map. This graphical Map shows, on a strand-by-strand basis, which math skills a student should have mastered at each Quantile measure level.

Mathematics TEKS alignments online

PASeries Mathematics test items, by design, are aligned to roughly 85 percent of any state's curriculum standards. By "by design," that comes as a result of the careful item writing and review process inherent in all PASeries Reading and Mathematics items. That's several rounds of item review, and extensive review of standards from the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM), Florida, California, North Carolina and Texas. Additionally, NAEP and other tests were examined in detail during the item development process.

Due to the state adoption of PASeries in Texas for the Student Success Initiative (SSI) grades, we've directly identified those alignments for Texas educators. These new alignment guides to the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills can be downloaded here on the PASeries Resource Library page (see the bottom right) of the PASeries product/administration site.

Oh, and the TEKS alignments run at more than 95 percent from these very same PASeries Mathematics items.
