Introducing PASeries Algebra I

A new addition to our formative assessment suite of products, PASeries Algebra I is available for students in grades 6-12. This assessment tool, like all of the PASeries products, is scientifically based and, as with PASeries Mathematics, is tied to the The Quantile Framework for Mathematics. The new PASeries Algebra I includes six progress-monitoring tests and five diagnostic tests for targeting instruction. It's a great extension of PASeries Mathematics to higher levels of math.

Introducing PASeries Writing

Today, Pearson launches the third product in our PASeries suite, PASeries Writing for grades 6-12. The technology is really pretty cool and the online administration mirrors that of PASeries Reading and Mathematics.

PASeries Writing is scientifically based and uses the Knowledge Analysis Technologies (KAT) engine from Pearson Knowledge Technologies which automates scoring and examines student writing in context. The essay scores are based on the meaning of text, not only the grammatical correctness, spelling, or other surface elements. The KAT engine 'understands' the meaning of text much the same as a human reader. For more information on how the KAT engine works, check this out.

This PASeries product allows students to practice their writing skills throughout the school year and teachers to assess it, all online.
